Teenager Counseling & Therapy

Counseling and Therapy for Teens.

Teen Counseling Services at LifePaths Counseling Center

We offer teen counseling for individual teens or their parents on many important counseling issues.  In fact, we love working with teenagers!  The issues young people face as they approach independent adulthood can be challenging, and not only do we love helping, we love getting to know you and your family as well.

The following list are some of the therapy issues we’ve helped with:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Grief
  • Stress and Coping
  • High School, Junior/Senior Year Stress
  • Anger and Resentment
  • Behavioral Issues
  • Suicidal Thoughts
  • Peer Problems
  • Romantic and Friend Relationship Issues
  • Cutting/Self-harm

There are a lot more issues we help with.  Please call to discuss it with one of our counselors.  We are happy to help you find the type of help you need.  We want you and your whole family to thrive.

Most of the time, we work with teenagers the same way we do with adults – using “talk therapy.” Sometimes we may do an activity, or take a walk during our session.

We may meet with an entire family or a teen’s parents, when it can be helpful to the work in therapy.

Please contact us for more information regarding teen counseling and therapy! We are happy to talk more about how therapy can work for you, and how we can provide support.

Teenager Counseling and Teen Therapy

Trust in Teen Therapy and Counseling – Confidentiality

In any work a person does with a counselor, it is important to be able to trust your counselor – trust in the confidentiality of the relationship, that you won’t be judged, and that you receive compassion and empathy along with ideas to solve the problems that brought you there.

In teenager counseling, this is extremely important. We talk about this at the first teen counseling session with both the teen and the parents.

Your son or daughter teenager needs to know that the counselor won’t tell you much about what is talked about. They need this to get the most out of therapy.

Our counselors understand this is hard for a parent to not know as much about what is going on as you may want, but we also reassure you that if something serious is happening, we will let you know about that.
