Transitions Counseling can help with many of the big changes most of us experience throughout our lifetime, both positive and negative.
Even positive changes can bring stress, and being prepared for that helps to make transitions as smooth as possible. Our counselors have helped many people deal with major life transitions such as these:

Transitions may be related to getting through different stages of life, our own major life events, or major life events of our loved ones. Counseling can help in many ways but mainly by helping you to understand more about what is meaningful to you related to this transition, and by giving you the tools you need to manage stress.
Why is it important to figure out what is meaningful about a life transition? For one thing, you might associate a certain belief to a change in your life that you’ve developed from similar beliefs your family members have. For instance, if one of your parents was laid off from a job and that parent believed it meant they were a “failure” in their job or career, you might have negative connotations with this. These kind of beliefs are often subconscious and go deeper than simply the financial strain of the time when you are not working. Understanding this can help you move through the transition more smoothly than you would have otherwise.
