The most common situation for consulting on scams and financial fraud is when a person has become involved with a scammer but doesn’t want to accept it or change it, I’ve helped the victim and the family to get out of the situation. Sometimes the person is in similar scam situations again and again; sometimes it is an ongoing romance scam the person doesn’t want to let go of. If your loved one is in a situation like these, I understand the fear, the hurt, and the urgency. Bringing someone in to help you can be so valuable. I can help you decide how to approach the problem, and I can help by talking with your loved one, too.

Professional Wills

A professional will is a document that tells others what to do if a therapist dies or is incapacitated.  It is sometimes referred to as a contingency plan.

In the section below you’ll see that my book and my online video course have a lot to help you get your professional will completed, including a template that is very easy to customize. Sometimes though, the way your business operates means it is a little more complex than a typical private practice. Common reasons other counselors consult with me are listed below.

You have multiple income streams, types of clients, a group practice, or other complexity in your practice

Services to Consider Before Consultation

Consulting on Scams and Financial Fraud:

I have online video courses about fraud that may be best to start with. One is designed for counselors and therapists; another for family and friends; and another for other professionals such as law enforcement and investigators, finance professionals, advocates, and others.

Consulting on Professional Wills:

I’ve facilitated many Professional Will Workshops in person, and now have this available online.  Four things are part of this workshop: Why it is important to do, what decisions need to be considered, the typical challenges in getting a professional will done, and actually DOING it. There’s a template included that is very easy to customize.  I wrote a book on this as well, titled One Last Act: A Mental Health Clinician’s Guide to Professional Wills. There are two online video courses about professional wills: One of them is the online version of the workshop, the other is a tutorial for a Professional Executor.

Professional Executors

A Professional Executor is the person who steps in to care for your clients if a counselor dies, or if something happens to them and they aren’t able to work. If you’ve been asked to be someone’s Professional Executor or you suddenly must step in with no instructions about what to do, taking that online course can give you confidence about what to do.
